Appetite for Books offers an extensive collection of cookbooks and food-related literature, in both French and English, to satisfy the everyday cook, the passionate gourmet, and the professional chef.

We welcome you to browse our shelves and explore the worlds of cuisines, in our relaxed and inviting atmosphere.

Serving our clients since 2005.

With our new and updated professionally furnished kitchen for food demonstrations, tastings, and dinners, Appetite for Books is the only cookbook store of its kind in Montreal! We invite you into our kitchen to discover various styles of cuisines and culinary techniques.

Our classes taught by Chef Jonathan are scheduled classes throughout the season based on a selection of cookbooks. Classes are varied and the theme and flavors change from one to the next. Sit back and relax during a four course meal. Choose a class that will satisfy your food curiosities, learn from the best authors and pick up some new cooking techniques!

Enjoy an evening with 10 of your guests for an intimate dinner setting around Chef Jonathan as he demonstrates the preparation of your dishes for you to enjoy with all your senses. This is a 4 course dinner, BYOB.

Our Response to the COVID-19

To our clients,

We've made the decision to close the store and cancel all cooking classes starting on March 16 and through March 27.

We feel it's important for our employees and guests to be able to practice social distancing and follow the directives given to use from the government.

We will keep you posted on any developments.

Please continue to be safe and we will be able to come out of this quicker and stronger as a community.

If anyone needs to contact us regarding cooking classes and cookbooks we will be checking emails and will respond.

Thank you for your understanding,

Jonathan
